Oscar® Nomination for THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG

The feature film THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG by Mohammad Rasoulof has been nominated for an Oscar® in the Best International Feature Film category. This was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) on Thursday, January 23, 2025. This is the third time in a row that the German entry has entered the race for the Foreign Oscar®.

Major appearance of German productions and co-productions at the anniversary edition of the Berlinale 2025

From February 13 to 23, 2025, Berlin will once again become the center of the film world. The Berlin International Film Festival is inviting audiences and the industry to its 75th anniversary edition this year. A total of 66 German productions and co-productions will be screened in the sections of one of the three largest international film festivals. In addition to the screenings in the cinemas, the European Film Market will once again open its doors.

In the fourth and last meeting of 2024, German Films „Distribution Support" awards committee decided to support 31 foreign theatrical releases of German films. In total 257,490 Euro were allocated.

Three German productions in competition categories at the film festival in Rotterdam

A diverse and exciting programme was unveiled for the 54th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The festival’s next edition will be held from January 30 to February 9, 2025. The line-up includes 32 German productions and co-productions, including three films in the competition categories.
