The festival which runs for eight days from 19-26 June 2015 has been shortened this year due to financial problems. Three Russian films as well as films from Finland, Serbia, France, Spain, Japan, Lebanon and Iran will also compete in the main competition. French director and screenwriter Jean-Jacques Annaud is the chairman of the jury.
The 60 year old Hristov is a well known actor in Bulgaria with more than 120 theatre and film roles as an actor to his credit as well as directing hit Bulgarian stage productions. His 2003 feature Emigrants produced by BNT which he co-directed with Lyudmil Todorov as well as his 2010 feature Footsteps in the Sand produced by Profilms are well known to international festival audiences.
Losers is the story of four high school students, Elena, Koko, Patso and Gosho, in a small town in Bulgaria who are inseparable friends that share the belief that they are ''losers''. Hristov has produced the film with Sofia based Profilms which also produced his previous film.
