This very new and rather unique activity of the National Palace of Culture became possible after its official inscription in the NFC public register earlier this year. The Palace will mainly co-finance Bulgarian films, which have already raised 75% of their total budgets. The other option will be the co-financing with over 50% from the total budgets, in which case the Palace will act as a majority coproducer.
According to the administrative director Miroslav Borshosh, the Palace will also support the advertising campaigns of the selected films by offering Hall 1 for their premieres“. “This year we will open our biggest annual film event Cinemania with Ivailo Hristov’s Losers, which has just won the top award at the 37th Moscow International Film Festival”, said Borshosh.
The deadline for the call for applications in 2015 is the end of July with the selected projects announced on 20 August 2015. Four application sessions are set for 2016.
