ZAGREB: The Croatian festival of animated films Animafest taking place 5 -10 June 2017, selected nine features and 44 short films for its main competition sections.
The short film section includes six Croatian films and minority coproductions. Poland and Estonia are represented by multiple films and Romania has one film in the competition. Some 800 films applied for the competition, with 1,600 total submissions from 76 countries for the entire festival.
An additional 16 Croatian films were selected for its national competition. No CEE films were selected for the feature film competition.
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region. The webportal and FNE newswire was chosen as the MAIN TOOL to achieve the network’s objectives of the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the VOICE of the region.
FNE’s objectives include VISIBILITY for the region and AUDIENCES for films by providing a special focus on the region.
