Jan SverakPRAGUE: Czech producer/director Jan Sverak has won his case against server Share-rapid.cz for providing the free download of his 2010 film Kooky.
Czech media reports that Share-rapid.cz was ordered to pay 536,000 CZK to Sverak as compensation.
This was the first court case in the Czech Republic against online piracy of films. The decision of the country’s Supreme Court upheld an early verdict from Prague’s Municipal Court.
