Built around this year's theme Keep Calm and Shoot, EDP focuses on narrative development, promotion, networking, co-financing and distribution – based on one-on-one meetings, EDP is the largest Central and East European documentary event of the year, with 350 guests attending, including 120 regional filmmakers and producers, more than 70 key international festival programmers, commissioning editors, buyers, distributors, sales agents, film fund and organization representatives.
EDF aims at helping quality creative documentaries to fine-tune their story and visual style, and find suitable partners for co-production and distribution and is designed for professionals with projects in the development, production and post-production stage, and for professionals with completed films.
Events, which will fill halls at the Cervantes Institute and the Komedie Theatre, will include: the 14th East European Forum, a five day pitching workshop; the first Doc Tank, a two-day workshop for projects with cross-media, activist and social engagement approaches; the fifth Project Market, a two-day session for 35 projects of pre-arranged meetings with scouts and commissioning editors; and the East Silver Videolibrary, at which 300 completed films will be available for online screening to distributors and other industry professionals.
