Marhoul told FNE that the 5 m EUR film will be shot in five phases beginning in March 2016 and ending in June 2017. Marhoul participated in the prestigious ScripTeast script development project last year with the project and credits his participation as playing a significant role in the project’s success.
It will be the third time at the helm for Marhoul, who was the CEO of Barrandov Studio during its transformative years.
Marhoul signed agreements with Germany’s A-Company film production unit, Poland’s Film Produkcja and Israel’s United Channels Movies. It marks the first venture into the area of feature length film production for the Polish company, which intends to bring in Polish co-financing through national TV channels.
Marhoul, who heads his own production company in Prague, Silver Screen, is also in negotiations with Czech TV and potential French partners.
