PRAGUE: Shooting of Danish feature Tordenskiold, which started on Czech locations 13 October 2014, is scheduled to wrap 18 November.

Tordenskiold is a comedy/drama written by Norwegian author Erlend Loe, one of Scandinavia’s most successful literary stars, and directed by Henrik Ruben Gentz (Good People, 2014).

The story follows a 29-year-old vice admiral Tordenskiold and his manservant Kold. The year is 1720, peace treaties have been signed, the war has ended and the naval hero has absolutely no idea what to do with his life. Kold talks him into going on a journey of courtship to England, but the mission develops into a hilarious and grotesque trip from Copenhagen, across Denmark and into Northern Germany.

Norwegian actor Jakob Oftebro (Kon –Tiki, 2012, The Shamer´s Daughter, 2014), and Martin Buch are in the leading roles.

Tordenskiold is produced by Danish Nimbus Film and supported by Danish Film Institute, Norwegian Film Institute, Swedish Film Institute, State Cinematography Fund – Czech Republic, Nordic Film & TV Fund a Eurimages. The coproducers are  Hummel & Nimbus (Norway), Anagram Film (Sweden) and Czech Sirena Film, which has cooperated on several previous Scandinavian productions (A Royal Affair, 1864, The Shamer´s Daugther).

The shooting is taking place solely on Czech locations including Prague, Kromeriz, Jaromer, Ploskovice, and Konopiste. Of the 140 crew members, 120 are from the Czech Republic. The filmmakers plan to spend 70m CZK in the Czech Republic.

The release is planned for January 2016.
