The festival will open with a period drama A Little Chaos, directed by and starring Alan Rickman. At the opening ceremony, the Kristian award for contribution to world cinema will be given to guests of honour: Alan Rickman, Kim Novak and Jean-Jacques Annaud. British producer Mike Downey will also be a special guest of the festival. The festival will pay tribute to Eran Riklis.
A total of 12 titles will vie in the New Europe Competition and will be judged by a jury chaired by Vlasta Chramostova. In cooperation with the Polish Institute in Prague, Febiofest will introduce the Poland 44 section on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of WW II. The section Balkan Beats will show six features. The new section Culinary Cinema is organised together with Berlin International Film Festival. The Northern Lights section will be part of the festival for the second time.
