The story follows Laika, the dog who is forced into being a pioneer of astronautics. Soon after her lift off, a number of other animals follow. They eventually manage to colonise a new planet and become friends with the local fauna and flora. However, humans soon arrive, only to destroy that careful harmony that has been created.
"It is fascinating to witness the hubris with which humankind puts itself above all other life forms on Earth and decides over their being or non-being.” said the director. The film's release in 2017 will coincide with the 60 years since the Soviet space dog Laika became the first animal launched into orbit. The film is being made in three parts and the producer is still looking for support to make the third part. The budget for the film is 2m EUR.
