FNE and the Czech National Film Archives: As a big thank you the Czech National Film Archives has provided us with five packages of the following DVDs of rare classic Czech films with English subtitles that were awarded to five of our hard working critics at the end of the festival.
- Czech experimental director Petr Skala: Selection of his works from 19602-1980s.
- Vzpominky a zapominaini: Three films depict transformations of depicting Holocaust and question the possibility of objective reflection after the event. It is a feature film, The Passenger (Poland, 1963), an animated Apel (Poland, 1970), a documentary Ill-Fated Child (CR 2003).
- Woody Vasulka: Presents a selection of his video production, complete with a picture attachment related to his life and work. Brno native and graduate of FAMU belongs to the first generation to experiment with video technology. Cofounder intermedia theater of electronic media at The Kitchen in New York (1971), lectured at the Center of Media Studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo (1973-1979) and since 1980 resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
