Nika loves racing go-carts. Her father, a professional race car driver who died in a car accident, had inspired her love for this sport. Nika’s mother is afraid that after the death of her husband she could lose her only daughter as well. However, her opposition only fuels Nika’s efforts.
The main character is played by newcomer Ylenia Mahnič, joining professional actors Marjuta Slamič, Sebastian Cavazza, Benjamin Krnetić, Gašper Tič, Nenad Tokalić and Gojmir Lešnjak. Shooting took place in May and June 2015 at the Slovenian coast (Koper, Izola, Piran, Sečovlje).
The film was produced by Darko Vinkl, Alan Vitezič, Bistra Borak and Miha Hočevar through Nora Production Group in coproduction with Radiotelevizija Slovenija. The total budget is estimated at 750,000 EUR. The project was supported by the Slovenian Film Center with 150,000 EUR. Technical support was provided by Studio Viba Film.
