The Proxima Competition, now in its third year, will screen ten films among world premieres and two films among international premieres, made by Pavel G. Vesnakov, Paula Ďurinová and Martin Pavol Repka, among others.
“The 58th KVIFF official selection, closely watched core of the festival's annual lineup comprising the Crystal Globe and Proxima competitions as well as the Special Screenings programme, offers a unique epicentre of genres and themes vibrating through the contemporary cinema”, says Karel Och, artistic director of the Karlovy Vary IFF.
The Crystal Globe Jury is composed of Christine Vachon (president), Geoffrey Rush, Gábor Reisz, Sjón and Eliška Křenková, while Mohamed Kordofani, Bianca Balbuena, Daniela Michel, Wouter Jansen and Adéla Komrzý are in the Proxima Jury.
