Sales grew to 611.7 million crowns (euro 22.2 million) in 2006, compared with 522.2 million crowns the previous year.
Bontonfilm announced earlier its owners are looking for a strategic investor to buy a stake in the company, possibly late this year or in early 2008. Its main shareholders are investment fund Bancroft Czech Republic and businessman Martin Kratochvil.
Bontonfilm raised its share on the DVD and videotape market to 52 percent last year from 35 percent in 2005, according to DVC, CD and videotape provider DVD Group.cz (web.dvdgroupcz.com).
Revenues from the sale of films to shops and video rentals grew to 290 million crowns, compared with 222 million crowns the previous year. Bontonfilm is a unit of the Bonton group that also comprises recording company Supraphon and book publisher Albatros.
