The new building houses BFM’s English-language BA and MA programmes in Film, Audiovisual Media and Cross-Media Production, as well as professional training facilities.

The new BFM centre includes a film and TV studio with adjacent service facilities, Dolby-compliant sound mixing studio and the Estonian Digital Centre, a high-end post-production house for commercial purposes. The construction cost of the new premises amounted to an estimated 6.9 m EUR, a third of which was provided by European structural funds and the rest by Tallinn University.

BFM is currently the only film school in Northern Europe that teaches most of its programmes in English. The school has currently 430 students. Recent graduates include Tanel Toom, the winner of the student film Oscar in 2011.
