The EFF will be held 18-19 November 2015 during the 19th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and its Industry@Tallinn summit. Topics will include the European Commission’s Digital Single Market Strategy; collaboration between rights holders the audiovisual industry and the startup and ICT sector; new opportunities offered by the Creative Europe-MEDIA programme; new prospects for sales and distribution; the challenges for intellectual property and copyright in the digital age; diversity within the VOD market; and new forms of audience engagement.
The EFF will also present showcases, performances and demonstrations of innovative products and services. Nordic startups, audiovisual technology and post-production companies will be at the Black Nights Digital Corner showcase fair. The festival’s industry event also includes a focus on games and a programme to introduce new projects from the Nordic/Baltic/CEE region to sales agents and buyers.
Sten-Kristian Saluveer, Industry Director of the Black Nights Film Festival, said: “We are living in a time of a great disjuncture in terms of how films are being conceived, made, distributed and want to be seen, and we are truly excited to collaborate with the European Commission to host an event that will not only step in to the ongoing debate within the European audiovisual industry and yield results for all involved parties, but hopefully will help the industry to take joint steps to the future as well”.
