Lotte and the Lost Dragons is an Estonian/Latvian coproduction produced by Joonisfilm in coproduction with Rija Films. The film had its Estonian premiere at the beginning of January 2019 with almost 30,000 admissions during the opening weekend. By now it has racked up more than 65,000 admissions.
In the third adventure of the franchise, a dog girl Lotte gets a little sister Roosi. They both help a pair of scientists, Karl the Raccoon and Viktor the Fish, to find the mythical fire-spitting dragons.
The budget of the film is 2,721,895 EUR, of which 256,637 EUR is Eesti Joonisfilm's own investment and 1,533,000 EUR is covered by the Estonian Republic 100 and the Estonian Film Institute. The Latvian coproducer Rija Films brings 872,258 EUR. The project was also supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme with the amount of 60,000 EUR.
