TALLINN: Estonian venture company UP Invest is set to acquire Finnish owned Forum Cinemas.
The move is being touted as a move toward consolidation of cinema exhibition in the region. The company already has an investment in the Apollo Group, which operates 37 cinemas in Estonia.
Forum Cinemas was already the largest exhibition company in the Baltic region. The new acquisition will add five cinemas in Lithuania and one cinema in Latvia, along with additional cinemas in Estonia.
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region.
