Cinema attendance overall is up 14 percent in Finland, at nearly 7 m tickets sold, and an anticipated 8 m ticket sales projected for 2012 in total, results last seen nearly 30 years ago, in 1983.
Leading the domestic success is a family film, Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy with 308,000 admissions. Seven films have recorded admissions of over 100,000. Two more Finnish films are scheduled to premiere in November: the documentary My Godfather, His Thai Bride, and Me and a Finnish/Canadian musical fantasy film Imaginaerum.
