The Georgian entry in the competition is Disorder (Georgian title: Koma), a gripping drama about the psychological and physical coercion placed on a young man imprisoned following an automobile accident, directed by Archil Kavtaradze.
From the Baltics comes The Gambler, a Lithuanian/Latvian coproduction about a young professional man addicted to gambling, directed by Ignas Jonynas. Neighboring Poland is represented by the feminist drama Women’s Day directed by Maria Sadowska. Other countries in the competition include the Ukraine, Turkey, and Armenia.
Finland is the subject of a five-film country focus, and the festival also screens 15 films in its Georgian Panorama section. The festival opens with the Georgian film Blind Dates directed by Levan Koguashvili and produced by Kino Iberica and Millimeter Film.
