In addition, five renowned international production companies will be introduced at the 12th Berlinale Co-Production Market as part of the exclusive "Company Matching" programme.
Registered participants will be able to request meetings with the projects and companies, which the team of the Berlinale Co-Production Market schedules prior to the event.
From a total of 331 submissions, 20 new feature film projects from all over the globe were added to the official project selection. An additional three are coming in the "Rotterdam-Berlinale Express" and participate in CineMart as well as in the Berlinale Co-Production Market. Three projects are part of the "Berlinale Directors" selection, and ten projects by upcoming directors and producers were selected from another 245 submissions for the "Talent Project Market".
The selected projects’ directors include some who have already attended the Berlinale in previous years. In the "Berlinale Directors" section, these are Avinash Arun from India, who won the Crystal Bear (Kplus) in 2014 for Killa (The Fort), Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross, whose Georgian-German-French debut In Bloom began its highly successful festival run at the Berlinale, and Ádám Császi from Hungary, whose film Land of Storms attracted much attention in last year's Panorama section. New projects by Benjamin Naishtat and Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy are presented in the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express.
And previous participants Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox) and Marcela Said (The Summer of Flying Fish) are returning to the Berlinale Co-Production Market with new projects.
Corn Island and Tangerinse Nominated for the Cinema for Peace Awards at Berlinale 2015
George Ovashvili's meditative drama Corn Island Produced by Alamdary Films in coproducetion with Arizona Productions, 42film, Axman Production, Kazakhfilm and supported by Georgian National Film Centre, is nominated for the International Green Film Award.
The Estonian Georgian coproduction Tangerines by Zaza Urushadze, produced by Estonian Allfilm and Cinema 24 in Georgia, is nominated for the Cinema for Peace Award for the Most Valuable Movie of the Year.
