The brothers, Mark and Aron Jaszberenyi, say Colorfront will offer a comprehensive range of HD, 2K and 4K post-production services to international filmmakers.
Colorfront is launching at a time when Hungary is becoming increasingly popular as a destination for Hollywood filmmakers.
"Central Europe, and Hungary in particular, has an amazing filmic history with many leading directors, producers, cinematographers and technicians coming from here," said Colorfront managing director Aron Jaszberenyi in a statement. "Opening a state-of-the-art facility in Budapest is very much in keeping with that tradition."
The brothers are intimately involved with the emergence of DI, or Digital Intermediate, having pioneered the first DI grading system which was used in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as the Harry Potter films and King Kong.
The Jaszberenyis also invented and developed Lustre, the leading industry DI grading system from Autodesk. In 1998 they founded Frontfilm (http://www.macrosolid.hu/frontfilm/eng/services.html, email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) Hungary's first digital film post-production company, building an end-to-end digital film pipeline offering scanning, compositing, effects, restoration and titling services.
The Hungarian brothers who invented the DI color manipulation system used in many Hollywood blockbusters have announced the launch of Colorfront (www.colorfront.com), a state-of-the-art DI and visual effects post-production facility in Budapest.
