Asian WWII drama to shoot in Latvia

By

The biggest war drama of its kind ever to be shot in Latvia is slated to begin shooting early next year. My Way, a Korean-Latvian co-production, will film partly in Riga.

The WWII tale recounts the fate of a Korean solider who is captured in Normandy by the American troops after serving in the Japanese, German and the Russian armies. Riga locations will serve as 1944 Berlin and the Kurzeme Province seashore in western Latvia will stand in for Normandy.

My Way is produced by South Korean company The Directors in concert with the Latvian company Film Angels Studio (www.angels.lv). Currently locations of the shoot include Kora and Latvia but may expand to additional locations within Europe . Several members of the Latvian crew will also visit Korea in November for the shoot of crowd and stunt scenes.

The war drama will be the biggest production of this kind ever shot in Latvia and is produced with the support of the Latvian National Film Center (www.latfilma.lv).
