This initiative supported by the MEDIA Programme to test innovative distribution grounds will offer the audience a choice in watching quality European productions and empower some films that otherwise would reach only a few lucky viewers attending the festivals. It will improve also the relations between festivals, distributors, sales agents and VOD platforms, to bring quality European film to new audiences.
Tjebbo Penning’s feature Clean Hands (Netherlands), will now hit two countries on the same date, reaching Macedonian and Albanian audiences at the biggest festivals in the countries and in parallel will be available on VOD. This release is coordinated by CutAway and the Tirana Film Institute.
CineSquare is the first video on demand service for promotion and distribution of films from Southeast Europe. The service supported by Eurimages and the Macedonian Film Agency will be available as pay-per-view to all viewers in 13 SEE countries, who register and log in on the platform. The content of the platform is feature films and long documentaries, as well as short films from the 13 SEE countries, with special sections for young and upcoming authors.
