FESTIVALS: The 39th Manaki Brothers ICFF Announces Lineup

    BITOLA: More than 95 feature films will screen at the 39th International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers, that will take place in Bitola, Macedonia from 22 to 29 September 2018.

    Headed by its new director Gena Teodosievska, the festival will feature its traditional Golden Camera 300 competition for best cinematographic work as well as the Documentary Programme, the Short Film Programme, Mak Point, the Junior Programme, the EFA Programme, the Student Programme and Film Classics.

    This year the festival will introduce two new programmes – European Cinema Perspectives (consisting mainly of debut features by young authors from Southeast Europe) and Midnight Riders (dedicated to the horror genre).

    The festival will also honour the English cinematographer Roger Deakins with the Golden Camera 300 Lifetime Achievement Award and the Italian Claudia Cardinale with Special Golden Camera 300 for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema Art.

    The veteran actress Milica Stojanova will receive The Big Star of Macedonian Cinema Award, presented by the AFPM/ Macedonian Film Professional Association.

    The short film The Lover / Ljubovnikot by Macedonian director Igor Ivanov and Blade Runner 2049 in honour of the laureate Roger Deakins will open the festival.
