As Film Commissioner Grech will be responsible for running the commission which represents the Malta film industry abroad as well as developing the local Maltese film industry. The commission also helps to attrach foreign productions to Malta which is a major location for foreign productions.

Engelbert Grech graduated with Honours in Communications at the University of Malta and has pursued further studies abroad. He has over 18 years experience in television and film production. He has directed and produced various productions for local and international distribution, including The History Channel and Discovery Channel.

In 2009, Mr Grech has been listed among the World’s 30 Achievers of the Year and won the Maltese Achiever of the Year Award in the Arts section by the Junior Chamber International.
