The festival presented five sections, including an official competitive section split into three categories: feature films, documentaries and short films. A non-competitive section, the Islanders, was opened to films from or about islands. The festival was organized by Film Grain Foundation, a non-profit organisation set up to foster a greater appreciation for film.
The feature film jury was composed of: Roland Joffe (Head of Jury), Amber Rose Revah, Nahuel Perez Biscayart, Laura Kpegli and James Mullighan. The documentary jury was composed of: Don Boyd (Head of Jury), Jennifer Byrne and Luca Ragazzi. The members of the short film jury were: Edward Williams, Marama Corlett, Sofia Djama and Kerry Crabbe.
