A short list of nominees in various categories will be announced close to the festival.

The jury will be headed by Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London and the British Film Commission, and it will include Croatian actor Zlatko Burić, Cypriot director Tonia Mishiali, Maltese critic Mario Azzopardi, Slovenian journalist Tina Poglajen, French actor/director Vahina Giocante, Greek producer Amanda Livanou, Italian journalist Boris Sollazzo, Portuguese journalist/programmer José Vieira Mendes and Spanish programmer Carlos Reviriego.

The festival is organised by the Malta Film Commission and it will be a platform for Malta to attract further film business to the islands, but it will also showcase films from each of the MED9 nations (Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain).
