Several masterclasses will be held on topics ranging from Raising Money for Film and Directing for Film to Virtual Production and Visual Effects.
Scheduled for 29 June 2023, eight roundtables are set around Malta Development Bank; Creative Europe MEDIA Desk; Acting with Portugal-American actor Joaquim de Almeida and Slovenian actress Katarina Čas, respectively; Artist International Group; East 15 Acting School; Writer’s Corner; and Producer Mentoring.
The list of the confirmed speakers includes Kevin Trehy, EVP of physical production at Warner Brothers UK, Mark Costa, SVP of production at Warner Bros Discovery - HBO/MAX Originals, and Olivia Koterska, manager of production at Skydance.
Among the speakers and attendees are British actress Natasha McElhone, British Film Commissioner Adrian Wootton OBE, Croatian director Dubravka Turić, Cypriot director/producer Tonia Mishiali, Slovenian producer Daniel Hočevar, Croatian producer Anita Juka, Head of the Slovenian Film Centre Nataša Bučar, Lefteris Eleftheriou (Invest Cyprus), Tanja Ladović Blazević (Croatian Audiovisual Centre), Natalja Gorščak (editor at RTV Slovenia, Slovenia, Ebu TV Committee Vice Chair), Jelena Milosević (HRT, Croatia).
The festival is organised by the Malta Film Commission and it will be a platform for Malta to attract further film business to the islands, but it will also showcase films from each of the MED9 nations (Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain).
Nine films from each of the MED9 nations are in the Official Selection.
