Montenegro currently has seven members in the European Film Academy. The other members are producer and director of Film Centre of Montenegro Sehad Čekić, scriptwriter Đorđe Milićević, director Ivan Marinović and producer Ivan Đurović.
Founded in 1988, the European Film Academy now unites more than 3,500 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting Europe’s film culture.
Jelena Mišeljić is a film producer. She is teaching assistant at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, University of Montenegro (on Film Production and Film History). She graduated and received a master’s degree in Production from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Cetinje. She is a Ph.D. in Transdisciplinary Studies of Contemporary Art and Media at the Faculty of Media and Communication. She is a participant of Sarajevo Talent Campus 2011, Berlinale Talents 2017, LIM – Le Groupe Ouest 2017. She has produced several internationally award-winning films including Shelter by Ivan Salatić, A Matter of Will by Dušan Kasalica, and Lowdown by Pavle Simonović.
Dušan Kasalica was born in 1987 in Montenegro. He graduated in film directing from the Faculty of Drama Arts in Cetinje, Montenegro, where he now works in the Department of Film and Television directing. His short film A Matter of Will won the Heart of Sarajevo award for the best short film of the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival and was screened in other prestigious festivals around the world. His new film SOA won Special Jury Mention at 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival. He participated in programmes including Berlinale Talents and Locarno Filmmakers Academy. He is producer of You Have the Night by Ivan Salatic, which will premiere at the 33rd Settimana Della Critica in Venice. He is working on his first feature film called The Elegy of Laurel.
Ivan Salatić was born in Dubrovnik in 1982 and grew up in Herceg Novi. His films, in which he combines documentary and fiction, have been presented at many international festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, where Backyards premiered in 2015. His first feature film called You Have the Night premiered at Venice critics week 2018. His films include the short fictions Intro, Shelters and Backyards.
