TVP series sold to over 10 countries

    WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster TVP will sell the license for Into Deep Water to Europe, Middle East and Australia.

    Into Deep Water (Głęboka woda) is a Polish drama directed by Magdalena Łazarkiewicz that started airing on TVP2 (www.tvp.pl) in June of 2011. So far the station has brocast one 13-episode season of the show and commissioned the second one to be aired in spring of 2013. The shoot for the second series is currently underway and will last till the end of February 2013. The screenwriters for the show are Łazarkiewicz, Katarzyna Terechowicz, Janusz Anderman and Dominik W Rettinger.

    Into Deep Water follows the life and work of social service workers. The lead character is Wiktor Okulicki, played by Marcin Dorociński, who is trying to prove himself at a new job as a social service facility director. Along with his team of specialists he tries to improve the life of those in need. Dorociński is accompanied by an all-star cast of Polish actors including Katarzyna Macią, Małgorzata Buczkowska, Rafał Maćkowiak, Gabriela Muskała and Julia Kijowska

    The series is produced by a Wrocław based company Media Brigade (www.mediabrigade.pl). Thanks to the topic of the show, the production has received financial support from the European Social Fund. TVP has informed FNE that the rights for the series will be sold to over 10 countries, including Germany, Romania, France, Australia, Israel and Iran.
