Golden Tapes for Rose and Amour

    WARSAW: The Golden Tapes, held on 11 March 2013, gave its Best Film award to the post WWII drama Rose directed by Wojciech Smarzowski.

    Rose was produced by WFDiF and co-produced by Lightcraft Warsaw,  Oko Film Studio, Perspektywa Film Studio and Tor Film Studio. Wojciech Smarzowski’s film premiered in Poland on 3 February 2012, distributed by Monolith Films.

    The award for best foreign film screened in Polish cinemas in 2012 went to the Oscar winner Amour directed by Michael Haneke and distributed in Poland by Gutek Film. The critics award honorable mentions to two other foreign films: Bır Zamanlar Anadolu'da, a Turkish/Bosnian co-production directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and distributed in Poland by New Horizons Association, and the Russian drama Elena directed by Andriej Zwiagincew and distributed in Poland by Against Gravity.

    The Golden Tapes, one of the most prestigious and the oldest Polish film prize, are awarded by the film critics of the Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP) and the Polish section of FIPRESCI
