The festival will also publish an album of Idziak’s life and work over the span of a 40 year career.
Born in 1945, Idziak had already made his professional debut as a cinematographer by the time he graduated from the film school in Łódź. He worked with the great Polish filmmakers, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi and Krzysztof Kieślowski, by the time Hollywood approached him to work on blockbusters including Black Hawk Down, receiving nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and OSCAR® awards, and the Harry Potter franchise.
Idziak has been granted the title of professor in Germany, and lectures at many international schools, recently turning his attention to Film Spring Open, an internet platform designed to connect filmmakers from around the world, and aid them in exchanging ideas and passion for cinema, along with workshops on new production models, film distribution, technology development, and the future of cinema.
