He specified that the strategy consists of expanding infrastructure in the Cinema City territories, building state of the art cinemas in prime locations, and building on ongoing relationship with leading developers in the region. The company has partnered with developer Globe Trade Centre in Poland, as well as in Romania and Bulgaria.
Greidinger added, “Poland will continue to be our leading territory and we see Cinema City Poland as a key driver in our business and therefore will continue to invest in the Polish market.”
Cinema City is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central and Eastern Europe and in Israel, operating 99 multiplexes with 966 screens, in seven countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel). The company has 32 multiplexes with over 340 screen under development. Cinema City is also active in cinema related advertising and film distribution. In 2012 Cinema City sold 36.3 million tickets. The Cinema City group employs over 4,000 people.
