Also aimed at facilitating mutual promotional activities, the venture is backed by the Warsaw Film Foundation, Beijing Film Market and Film Factory (www.filmfactory.cn), based in Beijing. CEEFPP activities will be held in Warsaw during the CentEast Market, in Beijing during the Beijing Film Market at the Beijing IFF (www.bjiff.com), and at leading film festivals in Eastern Europe.
A selection of completed new Chinese films and works-in-progress will be presented at CentEast October 18-20 to sales agents and international festival programmers. In April 2014 about ten selected completed new Eastern European films and works-in-progress will be presented at the Beijing Film Market.
The BFM is a trade and communication platform of the world film industry, which has accompanied the Beijing IFF every April since 2011. Film Factory (www.filmfactory.cn), organized by Beijing Good Film Culture Center, is a social networking platform dedicated to the support of independent filmmaking in China and acts as the hub for filmmakers. CEEFPP has been conceived "as a two-way activity, based on principles of partnership and balance," according to a Warsaw IFF statement.
