Two Polish films, Idadirected by Pawel Pawlikowski and In Hiding from Jan Kidawa Blonski, join Czech/Slovak entry Like Never BeforebyZdeňekTyc, Estonia’s Love Is Blindby IlmarRaag, the Estonian/Georgian coproduction Tangerines directed by Zaza Urushadze and The Gamble r, a Lithuanian/Latvian coproduction directed byIgnasJonynas.The main competition also includes five films from Eastern Europe and Asia.
Poland has a strong presence throughout the four additional competitions sections, closing night film Venus in Fur by Roman Polanski, and in a new section of Polish classics. Altogether the festival line-up 123 feature-length films and 84 shorts from 57 countries, with increased attention to world, international and European premieres.
