Speaking exclusively with FNE following a screening of the Krzysztof Kieślowski classic Camera Buff at the Warsaw Film Festival Stuhr said, "Currently we have completed the first week of shooting and we are set to wrap in early December. We will finish the shoot in Warsaw in November and then move the crew to Lodz, where we will shoot the scenes set in the capital before and during the WWII."
The drama is produced by Opus Film and coproduction by ITI Cinema.
"I want to show the viewpoint of my generation, which had such a colorful life and witnessed so many significant historic events" said Stuhr. "My film will follow the life of one man starting in the 1950's up to contemporary times. My son will play my hero in his youth and I will take on the task to direct myself and play him for the last 20 years." The DoP is Paweł Edelman.
The budget is 5.1m PLN (1.2m EUR) with a 2.3m PLN grant from the Polish Film Institute.
"ITI Cinema is also our distributor and we are set for a premiere on 1 April 2014. When it comes to festival premieres I wouldn't like to jinx it, because one never knows how his film will turn out, but we are of course thinking about the Gdynia Film Festival and also Karlovy Vary, because I think that the mix of comedy and drama genres that I am trying to achieve would fit in well at the Czech film festival," Stuhr said.
