Polish participant Marta Habior has been active in different fields of film production since 2005, mostly as part of international film crews and projects. Currently a member of Polish Chamber of Audiovisual Producers, in 2012 she founded her company No Sugar Films where she focuses on projects which bring together talented filmmakers "whose goal is to make films in a collaborative and creative way, becoming the new faces of European cinema." Habior told FNE, "No Sugar‘s mantra is no nonsense, no sugar coating, straight to the point, where the story at heart is the center point of each and every project."
Her most recent and significant works include the 30 minute film Soap Opera directed by Bodo Kox, that was recognized at the 2013 Two Riversides Film and Art Festival (nomination), and the 2013 Gdynia Polish Film Festival - Young Cinema Competition (nominated). Her most recent international projects include executive production of the documentary-feature Accidental Rockstar directed by Leiv Igor Devold made in coproduction with Norwegian Medieoperatorene and a Polish-Norwegian coproduction between No Sugar Films and Aurora Film entitled Denial directed by Igor Devold, currently in post-production. “I believe that joining cultures, outlooks and experiences adds value to any given project which is why No Sugar Films’ main focus is coproductions for international audience,” she said.
She is currently developing a comedy-drama entitled All Gone Mad directed by Aleksandra Niemczyk, an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crocodile developed under Source2Script. Her upcoming projects also include a funny dark crime story The Dogcatcher directed by Daria Woszek and a science-fiction romance film entitled She directed by Konrad Aksinowicz as well as a creative documentary No Country For Great Men that made the selection of the 2014 Sheffield Meet Market.
She continuously attends international workshops and seminars in order to further develop her professional knowledge and exchange information with foreign producers and filmmakers. When asked about her expectations about the Cannes Producer’s Workshop she told FNE that she expects to gain new knowledge during the lectures and FNE coaching session, to discuss recent trends and new ideas, and finally to
network with tutors and participants, get inspired and make films.
