Alvernia Studios Adds Production Unit

    KRAKOW: Alvernia Studios has launched Alvernia Action, a special production unit focusing on large international coproductions, to be headed by Rafał Orlicki.

    Poland's Alvernia Studios prides itself in being one of the most modern film production studios in the CEE region whose film studios and services include FX and post-production.

    Orlicki was named president of the new company Action and studio founder Stanisław Tyczyński remains head of Alvernia Studios.

    Orlicki's extensive background includes leading the Regional Film Fund in Krakow and the Regional Film Fund Section at the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce (KIPA). He co-created the function of the Polish Film Commission Commisar and went on to become the first person to take up this post. He is the co-creator of the Małopolska Film Region project, an Euroscreen programme advisor, a film market consultant for the Poland Convention Bureau as well as an academic scholar and a member of the EUFCN, AFCI and
    Cine-regio.

    Alvernia Studios has worked on major international projects including recent credits such as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, dir. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (India, 2013), Burning Bush, dir. Agnieszka Holland (Czech Republic, HBO Europe, nutprodukce), Crulic – a Path to Beyond, dir. Anca Damian (Romania-Poland, Aparte Film, Fundacja im. Ferdynanda Magellana) and Essential Killing, dir. Jerzy Skolimowski (Ireland-Norway-Poland-Hungary, Skopia Film, Cylinder Productions, Element Pictures, Mythberg Films).
