Kebab & Horoscope is the story of a carpet salesman who is confronted with two small-time crooks that visit his store. Their nicknames are Kebab and Horoscope. The men pretend to by marketing experts who can save the store from bankruptcy.
"Kebab & Horoscope is a story about awkward people, who seek love in life. My characters’ clumsiness confronted with the absurd world makes my film a comedy. The comic aspect, though, is only to soften a tough story about loneliness, unfulfilled need of love and sadness," the director told FNE.
The film is a feature debut for the young filmmaker who also wrote the script for this dark comedy. The two leading roles are played by Bartłomiej Topa and Piotr Żurawski and the cast includes Barbara Kurzaj, Tomasz Schuchardt, Justyna Wasilewska, Marek Kalita, and Dorota Kolak.
The film was shot in April of 2014 and is produced by MD4 with a budget of 3 m PLN in coproduction with Zentropa International Poland, Grupa Warszawa, Dreamsound, Fixafilm, Koi Studio, LuksFilm and Projektor - Spoty Medialne. The film received 1 m PLN from the Polish Film Instititute.
The theatrical release date of the movie has not yet been announced. World sales are managed by New Europe Film Sales.
