The International Festival of Film Producers REGIOFUN is the only event in Europe dedicated to films made with the support of regional film funds and cities. The Festival celebrates both film producers and their role in the process of creating cinema as well as the engagement of local funds in European and international film productions.
The Jury of the Full Feature Film Competition at Regiofun, headed by Polish film producer Piotr Dzięcioł, awarded the 10,000 EUR First Prize to Verena Gräfe-Höft, the producer of Nothing Bad Can Happen (Tore Tanzt). The film is the story of a good-hearted boy who coincidentally moves in with a family of strangers who decide to take advantage of his kindness. The film was produced by ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel and supported by Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and Nordmedia. The picture also won the Audience Award.
The Jury of the Short Film Competition, composed of Svein Andersen and Maggie Ellis, assigned an ex-aequo First Prize to Nirvein Films and Prodo Films, the producers of Tin& Tina directed by Rubin Stein and supported by Junta De Andalucia and to Kris Mergan, the producer and director of Diamon supported by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund. The two productions recieved 5,000 EUR each.
