The story follows Inspector Szacki who from Warsaw to the quiet town of Sandomierz. He is prevented from starting a new life by the body of a murdered woman, a well-liked social activist, which is found abandoned in a public place, which will force him to start an investigation.
The film stars Robert Więckiewicz and the cast includes Jerzy Trela, Magdalena Walach, Aleksandra Hamkało, and Krzysztof Pieczyński. Shooting took place in March-May 2014. The adaptation of A Grain of Truth was announced in 2011, but the date of production and the director changed a couple of times. Finally, Borys Lankosz co-wrote the script together with Miłoszewski who is one of the most popular Polish crime writers.
The film is produced by Anna Drozd through Studio Rewers in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, Agora, Arttech Cinema, Narodowy Instytut Audiowizualny and Aeroplan. The budget of approximately 1.41 m EUR / 6 m PLN included a production grant of approximately 708,000 EUR / 3 m PLN (12 700 EUR) received from the Polish Film Institute.
The film was released in the Polish cinemas by Next Film on 30 January 2015 and has had 283,794 admissions so far.
