PRODUCTION: Agnieszka Holland Shooting Game Count

    WARSAW: Agnieszka Holland is moving into the second stage of shooting her crime thriller Game Count, a coproduction between Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden.

    The first stage of the shoot for Game Count / Pokot took place in June and July 2015. The crew is working on the second stage of filming which will begin on 20 October. The third stage is planned for winter 2015/2016.

    The DoP is Holland's longtime collaborator Joanna Dylewska. The film will shoot on location in Poland, at Kotlina Kłodzka.

    The film is produced by TOR Film Production in coproduction with Heimatfilm GmbH (Germany), Chimney Group (Sweden)
    and Nutprodukce (Czech Republic). The budget is 3m EUR with 3.5 m PLN in production financing from the Polish Film Institute.

    The production is an adaptation of Olga Tokarczuk’s bestselling novel Drive Your Plough over the Bones of the Dead. The script co-written by Holland and Tokarczuk follows a series of murders of hunters from a small community. An elderly
    villager Janina, played by Agnieszka Mandat, finds herself a prime suspect in the police investigation. The cast also includes Wiktor Zborowski, Jakub Gierszał, Borys Szyc, Andrzej Grabowski, Tomasz Kot and Katarzyna Herman.
