According to Polish news, the prosecutor’s office said that it will not appeal the Krakow court ruling from October 2015. The court had determined that Polanski’s extradition was not permissible.

Polański is still being sought by the US after he fled the country in 1977 to avoid a possible extended prison term for unlawful sex with a minor. Polankis has been residing in France, but has traveled freely for work throughout Central Europe, including the Czech Republic and Austria.

Polanski, who has dual French and Polish citizenship and grew up in Krakow, is planning to shoot a film about the Dreyfus Affair in Krakow. The film has a reported budget of 35 m EUR and was scheduled for a spring shoot. Polanski’s attorneys said the director wanted to move his family to Krakow.
