The film is set right after the fall of communism in Poland and follows the lives of three women, who desperately want to change their small-town lives. The Polish/Swedish coproduction was produced by Mañana in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, with production support from the Polish Film Institute.

United States of Love was released in Poland by Mañana on 29 July 2016 and has had 43,991 admissions so far.

The film gained significant international interest with distribution in Demark, Romania, UK, Holland and Hungary. International sales are managed by New Europe Film Sales.
