Scratch evolved from a painful element of Polish reality still dealing with the social remains of the communist regime. A middle-aged woman gets unproven information that her husband was a Communist era informant which makes her question her whole relationship with him. Rosa presents a universal struggle with issues of trust and loyalty in a very realistic and up-to-date scenery.

The premiere screening of the movie during this year's edition of the festival in Venice attracted international sales attention despite the controversial subject area. "We are in the middle of closing a contract with a big international sales company from Germany, whose name will be revealed in a couple of days after the approval of our co-producer PTV. The German company is already handling the screening of Scratch in Toronto at the moment.", Dariusz Sidor from Filmcontract told FNE. "Recently the film had it's Polish premiere in Cracow on the 5th of September and was very well recieved by the local critics. After the festival in Gdynia we are presenting the movie during the Spanish festival in Albances," he adds.
The movie's total budget was around 1.5 mln EUR with 540,000 EUR production input from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). The main producer was Polish FILMCONTRACT LTD. (www.filmcontract.pl) with co-operation from PTV-Film Agency (www.tvp.pl) and The Documentary and Feature Films Studio (WFDiF, www.wfdif.com.pl). The local distribution is managed by the Foundation of Cinema Promotion Polish Film which is recently very active in promoting new Polish movies and is handling two more titles in the Gdynia's competition Mr. Kuka's Advice directed by Dariusz Gajewski and the Infallible system from Izabela Szylko.
