Entanglement is Bromski's adaptation of a bestseller by Zygmunt Miłoszewski, considered to be one of the best Polish crime novels. The film evolves around a mysterious murder connected to a therapy group. The victim turns out to be a close family member of one of the patients. The crime scene is visited by superintendent Smolar and a public DA Agata Szacka. who share a joined past.
The shoot for Entanglement took place in June 2010 in Cracow, which replaces Warsaw as the setting from the original book. The movie is produced by Studio Filmowe Zebra (www.zebrafilm.pl) with Juliusz Machulski, the head of the company and an acclaimed Polish filmmaker acting as the producer. Entanglement is also co-financed by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) with 2 million PLN for production.
Bromski, a director, screenwriter and producer is one of the most popular and internationally recognized film professionals (www.jacekbromski.pl). Since 1998 he has been the President of the Polish Filmmakers Association (www.sfp.org.pl). His most well known works include It's Me, The Thief, Fish And Children and the box office hit comedy trilogy focusing on the life of a small provincial community Snug As A Bug In a Rug, God's Little Garden and God's Little Village.
The film has an all star cast including Maja Ostaszewska, Marek Bukowski,Andrzej Seweryn, Danuta Stenka and Piotr Adamczyk. The cinematographer is Marek Koszałka, recently praised for his work in Reverse directed by Borys Lankosz. The premiere of Entanglement is planned for the first quarter of 2011, the distribution is managed by ITI Cinema (www.iticinema.com.pl).
