Jakimowski is currently one of the acknowledged Polish directors, better know to the international audience with his award winning dramas Tricks and Squint Your Eyes.
Blind Watching is an international co-production between Poland, France and Portugal. The script, written by Jakimowski, follows a charismatic caretaker of the blind working at a special clinic in Lisbon. When he meets Ewa, a blind girl has difficulties forming healthy relationships with others, he risks his own safety to show her the world oustide of the hospital.
The producers are Polish company ZAiR (www.zair.eu), France's KMBO (www.kmbofilms.com) and Filmes do Tejo II Multimedia based in Lisbon. The budget is 7.2 million PLN (EUR 1.8 million). The film received 4 million PLN financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) as well as support from the Centre National de la Cinematographie (www.cnc.fr) and Institito Do Cinema E Do Audiovisual (www.ica-ip.pt).

PRODUCTION: Blind Watching Begins Filming in May
By Katarzyna GrynienkoPolish director Andrzej Jakimowski will begin shooting for his new film Blind Watching in Lisbon in May 2011. Jakimowski made the announcement at the Berlin Film Festival. The cast includes German actress Alexandra Maria Lara and an English actor Edward Hogg.
