Glurjidze described the film about families displaced by war as “a personal story,” and told the audience of around 100 industry professionals, “This will be mostly an actor’s film.” The script won the script development competition of the Georgian National Film Center and was one of ten projects selected for the Baltic Bridge East by West B’EST (be.poff.ee).
The film, budgeted at 447,500 EUR, received a development grant from the Georgian National Film Center (www.gnfc.ge) and has 20% of its budget (70,000 EUR) in place, along with interest from a Spanish coproducer. The producers were looking for a German partner as well as a sales agent and distributors. Among its international production needs are a foreign actress, post-production facilities, and a sound designer.
The producers lined up meetings with eight interested partners at the pitching forum, including the Kosova Cinematography Center (www.qkk-rks.com), Czech production house Lucky Man Films (www.luckymanfilms.com), and Turkish producer Tato Film.
