Three international competitions of the festival are dedicated to feature films, short films and documentaries. The winners will be chosen, as usual, by the audience.
The High Sun / Zvizdan by Dalibor Matanić (produced by Kinorama in coproduction with Slovenia's Gustav film, and in association with SEE Film Pro from Serbia) will open the festival.
Winter Song/Chant d'hiver by Otar Iosseliani, coproduced by Georgia's Studio 99 and France's Pastorale Films, will close the festival. This year there are two sections dedicated entirely to Poland and Romania. For the second year running, Trieste Film Festival will screen the winners of the Lux Prize.
A total of 22 projects from 19 countries will be presented at the sixth edition of When East Meets West, the Italian coproduction forum taking place on 24-26 January 2016.
